Tuesday April 15 @ LACMA

Tuesday April 15 @ 7PM
Brown Auditorium

REMEMBERING AND FORGETTING CONCEPTUAL ART

This panel discussion, which includes artists John Divola, Shannon Ebner, and Allen Ruppersberg, recaps the liberties taken with and given to photography by conceptual artists in the 1960s and early 1970s. These historical explorations will be related to current trends in contemporary art photography, questioning what is truly new and what simply has been forgotten.

TOO EARLY, TOO LATE
This discussion scrutinizes the slow, constructed, and directiorial method that has become one of the primary strategies of contemporary photographic practice and considers how this approach may risk overshadowing a photographer's intuitive, unconscious response to happenstance.

Saturday, March 22 10am at the grass area near the
cannon at the entrance to the Santa Monica Pier is where the group meets, they'll disperse to random areas from there.

this group is being coordinated through a world wide organization. Need a story? writing an article? want to be apart of something else besides school?

either way, they're looking for exposure so it's a good way to get your name on something that'll be widely dispersed.
